I found two chandeliers at a garage sale. I thought with some imagination and paint, they could be better.
However, before I got started, I sold one, the larger one, to my friend. Sorry to say I didn't take any before pictures, but if you imagine this as shinny brass you will get the idea. All she did was paint the brass white and have her husband hang it in their newly painted dining room.
I think it 'fits' her space much better than what she had and it also goes to show you that simply with some paint something dated can look so much better!
Now is where it gets more tricky. I wanted to take the smaller one and make yet another teacup chandelier, however, I could not remove the part that the bulbs screw into because they were soldered to the fixture. So my other alternative to NOT using the heavy glass bulb covers, was to drill holes and add crystals!
These pictures are going to be somewhat odd because I had hung this chandelier on an old birdcage stand just to be able to add the crystals easier before taking it to my antique mall booth for sale.
I loved the leaf detail on the scrolled arms!
It's ready to hang in someone's house to enjoy!
