This year, instead of listing 10 or so things that I think were the best posts of my 2013,
I am going to list in categories instead! Here we go...
Category - Chairs
2 chairs come to mind. My most popular post on a chair that I painted the upholstery and sewed a cover for the seat and a pillow.
This second chair was transformed with paint and a shabby chair cover made. It sold immediately from my booth, but I have another that I will be doing this winter, so you will have more eye candy to see!
Category - MacKenzie-Childs Style
MC, a true love of mine, but I don't feel good about paying their high prices for their pieces. Instead I paint my own version of their style. Like this vintage aluminum cake carrier...
Or this vintage aluminum coffee pot...
And this sweet silver tea service...
Plus, my version of MC's Chard Trees and painted fabric...
Category - Lighting
Transforming lighting has become a passion of mine. As this upside-down candle basket turned electric light for my kitchen window...
And this paper globe turned awesome map hanging light...
Or this ugly vintage table floor lamp turned shabby with its sweet teapot and cup/saucer...
To this striking wooden charmer made just right for my daughter, I just love them all!
Category - House Updates
My new shower is a luxury that I find hard to get out of in the mornings! Bigger and Brighter is Good!
And with its cute towel holder that I fashioned from an old bed foot-board, it is just irresistible!
A dramatic change occurred early in the year with the paint transformation of my kitchen and dining room from red to gray!
With the previous red backsplash being hand painted and not real tile, the beautiful and timeless look of REAL white subway tile with a fine black accent tile is the icing on the cake...
Of course, with new paint came a new rug and sewing of new valances! A more calm space and a nice change.
Even with something simple as a new chandelier for the living room...
And white paint and trim above the fireplace mantel, the changes all add up to a very productive year!
